Two weeks ago we had a year-end review, last week a vacation, but we are finally back with a kick to the regular Sunday editions.

Writing this series from week to week, sometimes picking interesting topics can be a challenge. That's why I like the end of the year so much - a time of summaries, for which materials are collected over the previous twelve months.

In the last pre-Christmas edition (Christmas Eve is a week away so we're taking a break), but not the last this year, we have Rust, Chinese regulations, and Microsoft buying itself.... stock market.

All last week everyone was talking only about ChatGPT, so we'll sum up this discourse. However, as a bonus we will have a list of recommendations from Vitalik Buteirin - the creator of Ethereum.

Today will be a lot about AI models... but you could expect that if the name "ChatGPT" has crossed your mind. We will also discuss Monoliths (in two different contexts) and the so-called SRE.

In today's edition, we'll talk ourselves through the problems of voice assistants, a new tool from the creator of brew, and why no one loves Stable Diffussion 2.0.

In the previous edition, drama chased drama, so today's topics are more heavily "engineering ones": The new version control system from Facebook and the scaling of Mastodon. In addition, there will also be an unexpected (?) move by Apple.

I hope you will have as much fun reading today's edition as I had writing it 😄 Because I have an explosive mix of math, crypto, layoffs and VR gaming for you!

The new edition is a bit late, but hopefully, the content will make up for it a bit for you. It will be about the Digital Market Act, the lawsuit hanging over Copilot, and also about Elon.... well, because in the end I also had to add my three cents to the discussion 🤷

I know there's been a lot going on lately, but we'll try to keep this edition very technical for the sake of balance. Therefore, instead of about Twitter, it will be about Ethereum, Cloud IDE, and the new Technology Radar.
